On behalf of our client we are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join their team. You will bring extensive experience in financial accounting within a fast-paced business with a highly developed commercial focus.

 

 

About You

As head of Finance you will play an important part of our client’s continuing success. You’ll be responsible for all financial information for internal and external reporting. You’ll be committed to maintaining quality procedures and processes that supports the business’ financial goals and future objectives.

 

Your reliability and diligence will set you apart as someone who ‘gets the job done’ and your problem solving skills will mean that you’re able to get into the detail, fully understand the situation and come up with the solution. Your communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to influence and motivate those around you and you’ll have a real desire to continue to learn.

 

About the Role

This role also has a broad range of responsibilities including business strategy and planning, commercial analysis, modelling and evaluating new business opportunities, financial modelling and reporting.   As well as this, you’ll also be more than comfortable in taking responsibility for annual business planning, monthly budgeting, forecasting and liaising with the external Chartered Accountants.

 

This role will suit an accomplished Finance Controller with tertiary qualifications in accounting are essential as is your broad commercial savvy and extensive stakeholder and people leadership skills. This role is varied with a high degree of responsibilities.

Essential skills:

Tertiary qualified in accounting and ideally also be professionally qualified

Experience in leading an accounting and administration team
An excellent communicator and relationship builder
A strategic thinker
Able to think laterally to identify opportunities to improve financial performance
Knowledgeable in MS Microsoft Suite and Accounting Software such as XERO, MYOB and other Stock control systems

 

The role will also involve:

Day to day operational accounting including monthly and annual reporting
Conducting financial planning and budgeting
Responsibility for the network administration across a large number of systems
Supporting the Managing Director and the leadership team with communication of insightful financial information.
