As Leading Hand, you will be actively involved with the Production Manager in the plans for meeting production/project timelines, supervising staff and work in progress and adhering to the company’s Health & Safety Policies for the manufacturing side of the company. Leading by example, your expertise and experience will ensure the highest quality in an efficient and effective way.

 

Main responsibilities:

Ensure effective utilisation of existing capabilities of staff and production plant equipment to meet the demands of the production plan for maximum output
Strong eye for Health and Safety rules, regulations and improvements
Be hands on to ensure that production quality is of the highest standard and in line with specification(s).

 

 

Your attributes:

  • Relevant Mechanical Engineering Trade Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years proven ‘hands on’ work experience as a Maintenance Production Fitter in a manufacturing/production environment
  • A great work ethic and the drive to help others within the team to make the manufacturing function of the company run smoothly
  • Competent work and leadership skills experience
  • Strong people and time management skills
  • Competent communication skills (a good command of the English language is essential)
  • Proactive self-motivated and ‘can-do attitude’
  • A logical and methodical approach
  • Be physically healthy and fit
  • Excellent attitude and sound understanding of safe working practices and their application in a manufacturing environment
  • Results focused
  • A ‘positive attitude’ with an understanding of urgency
  • Sound knowledge of problem-solving skills
