About the role ..... The role involves developing concepts, designing automated materials handling solutions. You will have the opportunity to be involved in projects from conception to project management. Working on multi projects at a time, you will focus on finding simple, cost effective solutions to often highly complex problems within a fast paced manufacturing environment. This is a multi-disciplined role where you will be exposed to a variety of engineering and project management solutions. Reporting  to the Engineering Manager you will thrive working in a busy team environment which offers challenges and variety.

 

About you .....

Ideally you will have:

 

• A Degree, Diploma or NZCE in Mechanical Engineering qualification. Mechanical machine design experience is essential and exposure within a manufacturing environment
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a design and drafting role within manufacturing/designing materials handling equipment and automated machinery
• Excellent and thorough documentation skills, maintaining and generation of mechanical drawings and BOMs for products, parts and assemblies
• Well developed 2D and 3D CAD skills – Autodesk
• Sound budgeting and estimating skills with solid commercial acumen
• Ability to self-manage in an environment where multiple priorities compete for your time
• Excellent communication skills and effective collaborative work in a cross-functional team
• Experience in quality assurance standards, ensuring Standard Operational Procedures are adhered to
